Giorgos Gyparakis (b. 1962) is a visual artist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the School of Architecture N.T.U.A. He studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and graphic design at Vakalo, School for Applied Arts, Athens. He has completed his post-graduate studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts (A.S.F.A.) under the State Scholarship Foundation (I.K.Y.). Gyparakis has held numerous solo and group exhibitions at notable art institutions and museums around the world like, the XLVI Venice Biennale,”Sculpture Triennale”, Osaka Japan in 95’, EMST Greece, Tel Aviv Museum of Modern Art, Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, the Benaki Museum Athens, the Cultural Centre Vangjush Mio, in Koritsa, Albania, and also at DESTE Foundation and Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre. He works and lives in Athens.
