Takis Diamantopoulos was born and lives in Athens.
For the past 45 years, he has been involved professionally with photography.
He comes from a family of photographers. Both his grandfather as well as his father were successful professional ones. It is at his father’s side that Takis had his first photography lessons, assisting him for ten years up to 1975.
In 1968, he gets involved with Fashion photography.
When he gets twenty years old he begins shooting the National Theater’s productions at the ancient Theater of Epidaurus.
In 1972, he undertakes his first shooting for the French VOGUE.
From 1975 until 1980 he sets up a studio with his brother Dinos, also a photographer, and for two years starting in 1979 they jointly publish ‘COVER’ magazine.
From 1981-1983 Takis lives in Paris and Milan where he works with the publishing house Condé Nast.
He has undertaken various advertising projects while his photographs have prominently figured in most Greek & International magazines such as ‘Stern’,’Madame Figaro’,’Marie Claire’,’Votre Beaute’,’Tahidromos’,’Vimagazino’,’Men’,’Status’,’Downtown’,’Nitro’,’Klik’,’Gineka’,’Diva’,’Cigar’,”Prossopa’.They are mainly Fashion shoots and Portraits of notable Greeks, including intellectuals, artists and actors, who have positively impacted and brightened the cultural life of his country.
He has realized cooperation with CHRISTIE’S fine art auction house, as also held numerous personal exhibitions, of which two in Thessaloniki and three in Athens.
Takis has also published three books.
His first one entitled ’33 Years of Photography’ was published in 1999 by Kastaniotis publishing house.
His second one entitled ‘200+4 Significant Greeks’ was published in 2004,by Liberis publishing house and the third, ‘The White Book’, was published in 2008 again by Kastionitis publishing house.
In 2010 he gets awarded from the association ‘Together For The Children’ for his charity contribution,through the creation of childrens’ portraits .
