The project “Surfing on the Art Waves” was presented, in parallel with the “OCEANIDA 2024” Classic and Traditional Boat Races which was held in October 19 and 20, 2024, in the maritime area of the Athenian Riviera.
Six artists, distinguished as well as emerging, transformed used surfboards into works of art, which travelled from Ikaria and carry their own story. These boards, which have already “tamed” the waves, now take on a new form, aiming to continue their journey through their sale. Part of the proceeds will go to volunteer groups and innovative organizations, with the aim of promoting and preserving boats and the sport of sailing.
The painted surfboards were exhibited in the windows of the Athénée, from October 18 to October 24, 2024.
